The Special Interest Group on Information Retrieval (SIGIR) within the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) has selected Norman Meuschke as one of ten students to represent SIGIR at the 50th ACM Turing Award Celebration in San Francisco, on June 23 – 24, 2017.
The ACM Turing Award, established in 1966 and often referred to as the “Nobel Prize of computing” – is the most prestigious technical award in the computer science community. ACM will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the award and the landmark contributions in computing that the award represents with a two-day conference in the heart of San Francisco. In addition to the award ceremony, the conference program includes a series of panels with Turing laureates and recipients of other distinguished information technology research awards.
