Biography
Frederic Kirstein is an industrial Ph.D. candidate at Mercedes-Benz AG in Böblingen. He completed his BSc and MSc in Computer Science with a minor in Physics at the Johannes Gutenberg-University of Mainz. During his graduate studies, Frederic was mainly active in Computer Graphics and VR and developed projects like the VR visualization of the IceCube project and the Virtual Reality Experiment (VRE) project of the JGU Mainz. During his studies, he faced the challenges of Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing (NLP) in multiple Deep Learning competitions and shifted his focus entirely on NLP after his graduation.
RESEACRH INTERESTS
Frederic’s position within the Research & Development part of Mercedes-Benz AG is at the early stage of ideation, which results in his current research interests on how the ideation process can benefit from NLP.
Frederic’s prime interest lies in the areas of:
- Deep Learning
- Natural language processing
- Language modeling
